A Night Out At Churchills Upmarket Bar & Lounge

Ever since I stopped studying I don’t really frequent bars anymore. I find them loud, full of younlings and they tend to make my hair smell like smoke (not a pretty sight or shall I say smell) On Tuesday I got on the bar wagon and visited Churchills with Ilona from Ilonique. This was my first time ever at an upmarket bar and it totally changed my perspective. I don’t think I’ve ever felt so “grown up” on a girls night out. Recipe – Dauphinoise Potatoes

This recipe is inspired and adapted from one of the recipes in Jamie Oliver’s 30 Minute Meals cookbook. I changed the recipe around a bit to work for me by removing and swapping some of the ingredients for things that are more regularly sitting in our fridge. This dish goes well with nearly anything from “boerewors” to pork chops and it’s really easy and fast to make. Dauphinoise Potatoes. Dauphinoise Potatoes Ingredients: 4 – 6 Potatoes, peeled and sliced 250 ml Cream 1 Purple Onion, peeled, halved and sliced (You can use a white onion as well I just like the…

Cajun Chicken with Zucchini Tomatoes and No Calorie Noodles

Last week I was introduced to No Calorie Noodles and it intrigued me, sometime that’s going to fill you up with no guilt? How is that even possible? They were kind enough so send over some packets for me to experiment with and today I’m sharing the first dish I prepared using the No Calorie Shirataki Noodles. Shirataki Noodles are produced purely from the Japanese Konjac Root. This type of noodle is made solely from the soluble fibre of the plant – known as the glucomannan. You can read more about it over here. Cajun Chicken with Zucchini Tomatoes and No Calorie…
