The Mira Konjac Sponge

A couple of weeks ago the team over at Mira Dynamics sent me a beautiful package, I received three konjac sponges from them in a lovely box wrapped up with ribbon. The box contained information about their products as well, which I thought was a lovely addition.

Before we dive into more detail about the sponges let me first tell you a little bit more about Mira Dynamics:

MIRA Dynamics International, (MDI) founded in June 2013 by Derrick Z. Venter and Shaul Ben Avraham, is a manufacturer, distributor and wholesaler of the MIRA Cupping Therapy Silicone Massage Cups (Myofascial Decompression) and a range of laboratory formulated healthy, natural and organic health and beauty essential oils, creams and gels, most of which should be used as a combination cupping therapy massage application for ultimate therapeutic treatment results.

About the Mira Konjac Natural Beauty Sponges –

Konjac sponges are natural fiber sponges that contains no preservatives, no colouring  and no additives, they are suitable for all skin types and promotes blood circulation and has effective anti-aging dynamics. They are exceptional for atopic skin (hyper-sensitive skin)  and eliminates dirt, excess oil, bacteria, blackheads and blocked pores while rich in moisture and naturally alkaline. They are non-abrasive, deep cleanses naturally while naturally moisturizing your skin. It’s soft and gentle to use, effectively balances PH of skin and as an added bonus they are 100% biodegradable, removes make-up easily and eliminates acne causing bacteria.

I received three sponges, one for oily skin (the black one) which I was really happy about as I have a really bad sebum problem in my t-zone and combination skin products doesn’t seem to cut it anymore. The other two sponges are for damaged skin (the green heart) and normal/sensitive skin (the white one) – Please note that Mira has re-launched their sponges and the colours are now as follow:

  • Green – Aloe Vera for Acne
  • Black – Bamboo Charcoal for Dry Skin
  • Purple – Lavender for Natural Skin
  • Orange – Turmeric for Oily Skin
  • Pink – Rose Essence for Oily Skin
  • White – Natural for Oily Skin
  • Dark Red – Red Clay for Oily Skin

The sponges retail for R99.99 and is available from their online store

My thoughts on the Mira Konjac Sponges

I tried out the black and green sponges and passed the white one on to hubby. The sponge is really easy to use and can be used with, or without a cleanser, just soak in water until it’s nice and squishy, just remember to rinse it out well after use and hang it where it’s airy too prolong it’s use. I’ve noticed a reduced amount of oil on my skin when I used the black sponge in the morning and my skin feels really soft and clean. The green sponge for damaged skin I thought I’d try out on my arms where I have those little annoying bumps. I use it twice a week and I will let you guys know how it’s going. Hubby used the white sponge on his face and actually said he will continue using it (he is really anti beauty treatments so I see this as a good sign) I have used another konjac sponge brand before and this one really compares really well and price wise it’s a winner!
