Ever since I joined Beauty Bulletin I’ve seen girls talking about Rubybox – just in case you don’t know, Rubybox is a monthly subscription service where you get sent a box of surprise goodies on a monthly bases, some full size and some sample size. So when they have a 50% off promotion for the mystery mix, I thought I would give them a try before signing up for the monthly box.
Now firstly, the service from Rubybox is pretty good, but, the courier service they used to send my stuff is giving them a very bad reputation. My first order was placed on the 29th of May, I got an email from rubybox on the 2nd of June stating that it has been sent, but oh my, I only received my order on the 12th of June. When I placed my order delivery time on my purchase confirmation said 2 – 5 days.
Excited that my box finally arrived I opened it up, only to discover that the nail polish inside was broken, the lid had a huge crack in it, leaking polish all over the cap. I phoned rubybox, sent them pictures and on the same day they send out a replacement. That replacement arrived this morning, the 23rd of June. But oh my, the courier company wouldn’t let my take the box without making a payment, standing outside in the street for about 10 minutes waiting for them to sort themselves out I finally got to came inside with my replacement box. It really shouldn’t be this hard to order something online!
I my overall experience was utter disappointment with the delivery but I am quite happy with what was in my box. I received a full size Sally Hansen Diamond Strength No Chip Nail Color in Heart to Heart, a sample size of L’Oreal Revitalift Total Repair and a sample size of Salvatore Feragamo – Incanto Bloom.
We are in the process of moving, so hopefully after we moved I can sign up for the monthly box and opt for another way of delivery or a different courier.
