Makeup brushes from Beauty Treats

I recently ran out of makeup applicators and somewhere I had lost almost all my makeup brushes from
a set I had purchased, when, I can’t even remember, so it was really time for a new set. Up until now I was mostly making due with what the makeup came with and my phalanges.

I purchased this lovely set of makeup brushes from Dischem, the set is from Beauty Treats. I’m crazy about the pink and black lace print on the handles and they match the pouch it came with. Each brush has it’s own little space in the pouch, it has a plastic layer in the top that covers the brushes and it neatly folds over and secures with a magnetic button.

The brushes themselves are very sturdy and the bristles are duel coloured and very soft.

I got 7 brushes in this set so I thought I would do a post about each different brush and what it’s used for.

Eyebrow Brush and Comb:
The eyebrow brush is used to brush your eyebrows and give them a nice shape. You can spray a bit of hairspray onto the eyebrow brush to keep your brows in place. It gives a nice rounded off look.
The eyebrow comb (mmm I think they named this one wrong :P) is used to separate your eyelashes after you applied mascara and notice your eyelashes are clumping together.

Eyeshadow Sponge Applicator:
This one is used to apply your eyeshadow with to your eyelids.

Thin Brush:
This brush is used to apply lipgloss, lipstick or eyeliner. I have a really nice brush that I got with my gel liner so this little brush is going to be for lipstick. You can apply your lipstick directly but by using a lip brush you can get that professional perfect finish, especially around the contours of your lips

Slanted Brush also known as Angled Brush:
This brush is used to apply highlighter under your eyebrows and to the corners of your eyes with precision.

Small Eyeshadow Brush:
This is ideal for applying eyeshadow to your eyelids, the difference between this brush and the applicator brush is that this brush applies the shadow softer and doesn’t drag like the applicator. I would use this brush to apply my second and third eyeshadow colours that need more precision to apply in the right places. This brush can also be used for blending.

All Over Eyeshadow Brush:
This brush is used for applying eyeshadow to your eyelids, it is used to create a contour look to your eyelid by using a back and forth motion to apply your shadow in the middle of your eyelid (feel for your eye-socket) I would also use the all over eyeshadow brush to apply my base colour. This brush can also be used for blending.

Powder brush:
The powder brush is used to apply minerals and makeup powers to your face smoothly.

The above mentioned brushes are all the brushes I got in my kit, but I know there are many other brushes available, which I will add to my collection in time.
