Fast and Easy Tuna and Mushroom Tart

This is one of my mother’s go to recipes, it’s really yummy and really fast and easy to make. Serve it with a salad of your choice.

Tuna Tart or Tuna Tert in Afrikaans ~ Serves 3 – 4

  • 2 Slices white bread
  • 1 Cup Milk
  • 5ml Baking Powder
  • 1 Grated Onion
  • 250g Mushrooms – Chopped
  • 1 1/2 k Grated Cheese
  • 1 Tin of Tuna
  • 30ml Butter
  • 2 Eggs
  • Salt and Pepper to taste

Mix bread, milk and butter in a saucepan and bring to a boil. Take off heat and mix in the baking powder, onion, mushrooms, tuna and salt and pepper. Lastly stir in the eggs.
Bake in the oven for +- 30 mins at 180 degrees C.
