How 2: Hair-Spa

Almost all of us do weekly (or regular) “home spa days” where we pamper our skins by doing facials and using that extra special body lotion or bubble bath. But what about your hair and scalp ?

I think a lot of us neglect our scalps, it is skin, just like on your face and the rest of your body.  So how should we care for this skin that is hidden underneath our hair ? I do regular hair-spa days to care for both my hair and scalp.

You will need your regular shampoo, a hair mask, conditioner and stay-in treatment.  I have 3 hair masks that I got in the Philippines, but you can use any hair mask you like.  Pantene and TRESemmé has some good hair masks you can try. The stay-in treatment I use is the Garnier Fructis Miraculous Oil, I got this in the Netherlands but there are many stay in treatments out there, so pick your favourite! You will need a shower cap too, preferably one that is plastic on the inside, not those ones that are lined with towel fabric.

Step 1: Wash your hair with your regular shampoo, one that is for your hair type.
Step 2: Apply your hair mask, tie your hair in a bun if it’s long and put the shower cap over your hair.  Wait for 15 – 45 minutes.

Step 3: Rinse off the hair mask.
Step 4: (Optional) Apply your regular conditioner to your hair and wait 1 – 2 minutes, rinse off.
Step 5: Rub stay in hair treatment onto your hair and comb through.
Step 6: Air dry your hair, this is the best way for your hair to dry as using heat to often can cause damage.

Your hair and scalp will thank you by feeling soft and moisturized! And your hair will shine
